The VICP is managed by three departments of the U.S. government: the Department of Health & Human Services, the Department of Justice, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
To be eligible for vaccine injury compensation, claimants must meet the following criteria:
• The vaccine and corresponding injury must be listed on the vaccine injury table, and that vaccine caused the injury or aggravated an existing illness.
• Vaccine injury claims must be filed within three years after the first symptom or onset.
• Vaccine death claims must be filed within two years of death and four years after onset of symptoms.
Individuals interested in filing a claim with the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program can file a claim directly with the federal vaccine court or with the assistance of a vaccine injury lawyer.
